ED 870 Capstone Seminar

ED 870 is designed to engage students in discussion and reflection on their learning in the Master of Arts in Education program. Throughout this course each student creates a Web-based portfolio that presents a well-organized representation of their work and thinking in the program.

CEP 832 Educating Students with Challenging Behaviors

This is a course in positive classroom management strategies proven useful with "tough to teach" students. For each type of problem, research based practices were explored that have proved successful in the classroom. We then applied these practices to simulated cases using a positive behavior support approach.

CEP 842 Instruction in Inclusive Classrooms

In this course, we investigated instructional practices that can be used in general education classrooms to improve the learning and academic performance of students with mild learning problems and disabilities. We focused on instruction in the content-area subjects of science, social studies, and mathematics. We also addressed Universal Design for Learning, collaborative planning for instruction, secondary and transition services, and creating a classroom climate in which all students have the opportunity to participate and succeed.
